About the species
Red foxes and gray foxes are the two huntable fox species across North America. Reds are widespread across the continent except for the Southeast where grays dominate. Both species are 8-15 pound predators that hunt rodents, rabbits, ground-nesting birds, and carrion. They have stable populations and aren't a conservation concern in most jurisdictions.
