How do I find bedding areas without bumping deer?

Use aerial imagery and topo maps to identify likely bedding (south-facing slopes with cover, thick brush near food, ridge benches with wind protection), then verify with cameras on travel corridors leading away from suspected bedding rather than walking in. Confirm in late winter (after season ends) when bumping deer is irrelevant.
The mistake is walking suspected bedding in summer or early fall to confirm. Mature bucks abandon bedding zones that have been disturbed. Camera-and-corridor scouting tells you where deer are coming FROM without revealing the bedding itself.
