How do I read a hunting regulation book?

Read it cover to cover before opening day, then focus on three sections every hunt: bag limits and tags for your species, season dates for your zone, and equipment restrictions for the weapon you're using. Most violations come from skimmed regulations, not deliberate violations — read the whole book once, then reference specific sections.
Highlight the bag limits, season dates, and weapon rules for your specific deer management unit. Note any antler restrictions, blaze orange requirements, and tagging procedures.
