Q.Regulations & Access

What is a doe tag and how do I use it?

A.

A doe tag (or antlerless tag) authorizes harvest of a specific antlerless deer in a specific zone and during specific dates. It's separate from your buck tag. Use it during the legal antlerless season in the zone the tag is valid for, then attach the tag to the deer immediately after harvest.

Doe tag allocations vary by state and zone — some areas have generous tags to manage overpopulation; others limit antlerless harvest to maintain herd numbers. Tags can be either-sex (use on antlered or antlerless) or antlerless-only.

See state regulations pages for current tag rules and antlerless season dates.
